Seafood is a staple of Cajun cuisine, which is why it is particularly popular in this part of the country, where Cajun influences are strong. From crawfish and shrimp to oysters and crabs, you'll find all the seafood you need for your business right here at Tommy's Seafood

We are so excited to announce the launch of our new blog. To kick things off, please allow us to properly introduce ourselves. Although our blog is new, our company is not. We have been supplying delicious seafood since 1982. Because we have been in this business for more than 35 years, you can count on us to deliver the best seafood the Gulf has to offer. 

A Look Inside Our Operations 

For us, seafood is not just our business; it is our passion and way of life. We look at it as the legacy of our culture and heritage here in Louisiana, passing down skills through generations and making the most of the gifts of Mother Nature. We take great pride in what we do and want to share our passion with you. 

Our New Orleans facility spans more than 30,000 square-feet of space. We divide the space into multiple workshops to accommodate the many different types of seafood we process in our plant. This includes wild-caught shrimp, live blue crabs, oyster shell-stock and more. We aim to be your one-stop shop for all your seafood needs. 

In addition to the seafood products we sell, our company provides several additional services for your business. For starters, we can pack our products in custom packaging to suit your brand. Our experts will be happy to work with you to assist with whatever you need. 

Our Innovative Freezing Method 

In the early years, we pioneered a new freezing process using croygen liquid. It freezes at -90 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling much faster freezing. Not only is this better for preserving the quality of the seafood, but it also minimizes the risk of freezer burn and other complications that arise from insufficient freezing. With our method, we are able to lock in flavor and texture so that the product still tastes great once thawed and prepared. 

The Best Suppliers and Partners 

Over the more than three decades we have been in business, we have built up strong relationships with local fishermen along the Gulf Coast, around Lake Pontchartrain and along the Mississippi River. This enables us to source the best seafood the region has to offer. We are very selective in choosing our suppliers to ensure they will be able to consistently meet our high-quality standards. 

This includes standards for pricing. Although the market price for seafood items can fluctuate on a daily basis, we do our best to keep our prices relatively stable. We understand how difficult it can be for your business to budget when the price is constantly changing, and we want to do everything we can to help you out, weathering the fluctuations of the market so that you don't have to. 

Finally, we emphasize sustainability and responsible practices across our operations, and this extends to our suppliers as well. The fishing outfits we partner with utilize sustainable fishing methods when catching fish in the wild to ensure that the seafood will continue to be readily available for many generations to come.
